Manage warehouse and logistics operations to ensure efficient movement of raw materials and finished goods to meet cost, productivity, and timeline targets.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or similar
- 5 years' experience in logistics/warehousing and planning within a manufacturing environment
- Must have a track record in planning, shipping, warehouse management, and inventory systems
- Knowledge of import and export logistics processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Exposure and implementation of Kanban principles
Key Performance Areas
Warehousing:
- Raw material and finished goods management - receiving, daily stock movements, storage, picking and dispatch
- Inventory management - stock levels, disposal of redundant, obsolete, and slow-moving stock, stock returns, and stock cycle counts according to Kanban principles
- Warehouse compliance and housekeeping, including health and safety regulations
- Manage departmental budget, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs
- Reporting - delivery planning boards, production plans, and material issuing schedules
- Manage and train subordinates
Logistics:
- Carrier selection and contract negotiation - Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and rates
- Shipment planning and despatch - plan, load, and dispatch both domestic and export
- Planning and monitoring of inbound and outbound deliveries
- Process optimisation - organise the warehouse, plot routes, and shipments
- Respond to issues and complaints
- Ensure all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements
