Qualifications

  • Trade Tested Millwright / Fitter & Turner / Electrician.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in condition monitoring within FMCG, packaging, or high-speed manufacturing.
  • Vibration Analysis Certification: ISO Cat I or II.

Job description
Overview

To monitor, diagnose and report on the health of high-speed packaging and manufacturing equipment using predictive and condition-based maintenance techniques. The successful candidate will support the Engineering & Maintenance team to prevent unplanned downtime, extend asset life and reduce maintenance costs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vibration analysis on rotating equipment (motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, blowers, compressors).
  • Conduct thermographic, ultrasonic and oil analysis inspections to detect early-stage mechanical or electrical faults.
  • Analyse data trends, diagnose faults (unbalance, misalignment, bearing wear, looseness, electrical issues).
  • Compile detailed reports with recommended corrective actions for maintenance planning.
  • Perform precision shaft alignment and balancing on packaging line equipment.
  • Maintain and update condition monitoring records in the plant’s CMMS / EAM system (e.g., SAP PM, Pragma, Maximo).
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to plan predictive maintenance shutdowns.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety, quality and HACCP/GMP requirements (if in food/pharma packaging).
Minimum Requirements
  • Trade Tested Millwright / Fitter & Turner / Electrician OR NDip/BTech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in condition monitoring within FMCG, packaging, bottling or high-speed manufacturing environments.
  • Vibration Analysis Certification: ISO Cat I or II (essential).
  • Thermography Level 1 and/or Oil Analysis Level 1 (advantageous).
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as SKF, Pruftechnik, Fluke, Emerson CSI.
  • Familiar with predictive maintenance strategies (PdM, RCM).
  • Strong diagnostic & reporting skills (fault analysis, trend reporting).
  • Solid understanding of rotating machinery and packaging OEM equipment (Krones, Tetra Pak, Sidel, KHS, Bosch, etc.).
