We're looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the BCE Warehouse team as a Storeman. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, security, and efficiency of our stock operations.
The Role:
The Storeman will be responsible for assisting with and managing all inventory control‑related activities, with a focus on day‑to‑day physical management of stock within the BCE Warehouse.
Key Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
- Maintaining physical control and organisation of inventory within assigned areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and security.
- Accurately counting and recording stock received and dispatched according to procedures.
- Performing regular cycle counts and participating in full stock takes and reconciliations.
- Keeping stock items always organised and readily accessible for efficient retrieval.
- Inspecting items in stock for defects or damage and reporting findings promptly to the manager.
- Conducting investigations into stock discrepancies and reporting findings to the manager.
- Maintaining accurate administrative records of inventory and stock management.
- Tracking inventory movements, creating reports, and reconciling inter‑branch/warehouse transfers.
- Assisting in the design, development, and implementation of inventory control procedures.
- Performing other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Grade 12/Matric certificate.
- Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
- Previous experience of at least 1–3 years in a Storeman, Stock Controller, or similar hands‑on warehousing position.
- 1–3 years of previous cycle count experience.
- Computer literacy (1–3 years of experience).
- Exceptional understanding of inventory management practices such as cycle counting and ABC analysis.
- Excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written).
- A related degree (preference will be given to degree‑holding individuals).
- Experience with SAP (1–3 years an advantage).
