A global logistics provider is seeking a Site Manager in Cape Town. This role involves ensuring site safety, leading a frontline team, and owning site financial performance. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years in warehouse operations management, a strong P&L track record, and a preferred qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain. Ensure site safety and compliance
Take responsibility for site safety as appointed 16.2 of the site
Maintain and improve safety culture, procedures, and KPIs; lead risk assessments, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with local legislation, client requirements, and company policies.
Recruit, coach, develop, and retain supervisors and warehouse operatives; set clear performance expectations and deliver regular feedback.
Build a high‑performing, accountable team through training, shift planning, and workforce optimisation.
Oversee inbound, outbound, putaway, picking, replenishment, returns, and inventory control to meet contractual Service Level Agreements.
Implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives, Lean practices, and productivity programs.
Ensure accurate inventory, timely cycle counts, and root cause resolution for variances.
Take full responsibility for the site P&L, cost control, budget preparation, and margin improvement.
Monitor labour, transport, and overhead costs; propose and implement cost saving measures without compromising service quality.
Serve as primary onsite contact for assigned clients; manage expectations, performance reviews, and contract compliance.
Proactively resolve issues, lead client onboarding and change requests, and identify opportunities to grow business.
Ensure effective use of Warehouse Management Systems and operational technology; drive accurate data capture and timely reporting.
Produce and present weekly / monthly performance reports, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement actions.
Safety: LTIFR, near miss reporting, corrective action closure rate
Service: On‑time in‑full, order accuracy, dock‑to‑stock lead times
Financial: Site EBITDA, labour cost per order, storage yield
Operational: Inventory accuracy, productivity per FTE, shrinkage rate
Customer: Client satisfaction / NPS, SLA compliance, retention metrics
Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or management role in warehouse operations within 3PL or contract logistics.
Demonstrable P&L experience preferred.
Strong experience with multi‑client environments and WMS implementations.
Matric (Grade 12) required; tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management preferred.
Leadership: proven ability to build and motivate frontline teams and develop supervisors.
Commercial and financial acumen: ownership of budgeting, cost control, and profitability.
Operational excellence: strong process orientation, problem solving, and continuous improvement mindset.
Customer focus: effective communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution.
Technology literate: WMS, Excel, reporting tools.
Resilience and adaptability: thrive in fast-paced, multi‑client environments.
