Job summary

An innovative engineering firm in South Africa is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to validate and ensure compliance for mechanical designs. The role involves mentoring junior engineers, technical leadership, and participation in design reviews. Ideal candidates should possess a BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering, have at least 10 years of experience within the contracting/project environment, particularly in petrochemical and chemical industries, and proficiency in relevant engineering standards and tools such as PV Elite and COMPRESS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in contracting/project environment.
• Experience in petrochemical/chemical/refining industries.
• Knowledge of PER and SANS 347.
• Understanding of imported equipment documentation requirements.
• Strong planning and coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Validate mechanical engineering deliverables.
• Prepare mechanical standards and technical specifications.
• Ensure regulatory and client specification compliance.
• Deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective mechanical designs.
• Mentor junior engineers.
