About the job Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

Role Purpose

The purpose of the role is to act as a lead in helping to shape the collection, management, and use of data for key business functions. The job holder will be required to drive the connecting of appropriate ‘back of house’ technology to deliver customer solutions and service satisfaction while leveraging these capabilities to drive valuable MI and insights for management.

• To produce detailed analysis and insight to help decision making in the business ensuring the data is central to the delivery of our new corporate strategy and associated strategy delivery plans
• To work with key colleagues across the company and assist the programme of work to improve the business understanding of data as well as promoting data analytics skills across each directorate
• As the Senior BI Analyst, you'll manage the integrity and effectiveness of data collection across operational and compliance related reporting
• To support quarterly business assurance reporting process
• You're also going to be using Power BI, providing analysis and insight for the business on complex issues and projects
• To improve and automate the collection and management of data
• Continue to review and improve the technology solution or knowledge base allowing issues to be fixed on first touch and minimising client downtime
• Ensure that identified data issues and problems are descriptively logged and kept up to date on the companie’s Incident and Problem logging system
• Ensure projects (internal and client) are progressed professionally and in a timely manner, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget
• Any other duties as required
  

Essential skills

• Experience in leading on data analysis projects
• Excellent knowledge of Power BI (dashboards, workspaces and apps) or similar systems
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications including using complex formulas, VBA, SQL beneficial
• Good attention to detail and a highly numerate ability
• Confidently engage and manage client relationships as well as Senior Leadership stakeholders (Stakeholder Management at all levels)
• Track record of providing services in a multi-site, 1000+ seats context
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex data related problems – data cleansing, validation, Tabular BI semantic model, advanced analytics and reporting, data mining, etc.
• Provides technical assistance and mentoring to staff in all aspects of data management
• Ability to speak confidently with senior stakeholders, as well as talk "techy" with Tech teams
• Experience of large and small technology change projects within a fast paced and demanding corporate culture.
• Experience of working with applications such as; Microsoft Office products, NetSuite, SalesForce, JIRA
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud (Azure, Office 365) and AWS Data tools
• Experience of working in an ISO27001:2013 environment
