Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education & Department of Secondary and Post‑School Education

Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education and Department of Secondary and Post‑School Education invite suitably qualified candidates to join their team.

Main Objectives

Overall responsibility to the Heads of Departments for administration and financial administration in the Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education and the Department of Secondary and Post‑School Education.

Manage the administrative and support staff of the two departments, including the resource centre support staff, the ICT support technician (concerning their responsibilities within the department), and temporary and permanent administrative staff working on research and teacher development projects in the departments.

Responsible for the management of student and academic administration, the management of the quality maintenance processes (including examinations and marks), and overall responsibility for the administration and maintenance of the departmental buildings and assets.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree (NQF level 7) or equivalent with approximately 3 years’ relevant experience, where such experience includes:

  • Previous administrative experience within a computerised environment including good organisational and planning skills, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
  • Previous financial administration experience
  • Knowledge of financial systems and processes
  • At least 1 year of supervision experience.

Selection Process (Provisional date, subject to change)

Remuneration per annum (Grade 11)

Basic pensionable salary per annum: R401,952.00

Cost to company per annum (approximately): R511,805.00
