Position Overview
The Account Director will lead and manage promotional retail campaigns for the Dis-Chem account, overseeing a team of Account Managers and Account Executives. Reporting into the Client Service Director, the role is responsible for ensuring efficient team operations, strict compliance with client requirements, and the accurate, on-time delivery of high-volume retail work. This position requires strong leadership, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while motivating and inspiring the team to deliver consistently high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
The AD is responsible for all AE / AM work being sent out and it must be checked by the AD before sending to client or signing off.
Promotional Campaign Management
- Run 360-degree promotional campaigns independently, ensuring all elements are executed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate across teams to deliver campaign components effectively.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and mentor account managers and executives to produce accurate and effective work.
- Support team growth through training, feedback, and performance management.
Shared Drive Accuracy
- Ensure the shared drive space is 100% accurate and updated regularly with all promotional information.
- Conduct regular checks to maintain organization and compliance.
Account Compliance and Growth
- Demonstrate full understanding and compliance with the Dis-Chem account requirements.
- Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for account growth.
Billing Management
- Oversee billing processes to ensure accuracy and timely completion in collaboration with your team.
- Resolve any discrepancies promptly.
Data Merge Proficiency
- Understand and execute data merge processes, ensuring data is organized, validated, and integrated correctly into projects.
Teams Folder Management
- Keep the Teams folders up to date at all times.
- Share relevant elements with team members promptly to support project timelines.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in account management, preferably within retail or marketing.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage 360-degree promotional campaigns independently.
- Leadership experience with a focus on team development and accountability.
- Familiarity with maintaining large volumes of information.
- Understanding of data merge tools and techniques.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills.
- Financial knowledge to oversee billing processes accurately.
- Ability to simplify complex briefs.
- Zero-tolerance mindset for pricing and compliance errors.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working on retail accounts is preferred.
- Knowledge of project management tools is beneficial.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale campaigns.
- Track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams (creative, studio, production, media, digital).
