Regional Programs Optimization Lead (Anglophone), Johannesburg

Department: EasyBuy Program Management Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: South Africa Job location: Johannesburg, South Africa About the role: Sun King is seeking an experienced Regional EB Program Optimization Manager to oversee and drive strategic expansion across Anglophone Africa (Nigeria, South Africa, and Uganda).

The ideal candidate will possess strong project and program management expertise, with a proven track record of executing complex initiatives and delivering impactful results across multiple markets.

What you will be expected to do

• Success architect: Collaborate with Country Representatives to develop and implement operational plans aligned with our strategic vision.
• Program excellence: Ensure timely delivery of programs, within budget, and exceeding quality expectations.
• Talent multiplier: Mentor and empower Country Program Managers / Associates to build a high-performing team.
• Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensure financial compliance, and optimize resource allocation.
• Data and impact-focused: Monitor and evaluate programs using data to inform decisions and communicate results effectively.
• Master connector: Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, communities, partners, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent Diploma / Certificate with extensive experience) in a relevant field, and 3+ years of program management experience.
• Management experience: 4-5 years in a leadership role.
• Project Management Certification: PMP / PgMP with verifiable credentials.
• Deep understanding of the development landscape and related challenges.
• Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyze data and solve complex problems.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Fluency in English, excellent report-writing skills, and proficiency in a local language is a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50% of the time) across the continent.
