Job summary

Job description
Job Responsibilities
  • Experience in manufacturing environment with quality laboratory systems within automotive industry.
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment, e.g., microscope for weld pens, IMTE for measuring and testing, CMM for scanning parts accuracy.
  • Must have ability to read and interpret customer drawings, understand customer specifications.
  • Ability to compile test reports that meet company and customer specific reports, ensuring parts are passed, approved, and accepted by customers.
  • Liaise with external suppliers regarding calibration of test and measuring equipment and maintain calibration register/schedule.
  • Ensure all gauges/measuring equipment are accounted for and calibrated as per the Gauge Pack System.
  • Decommission obsolete gauges/measuring equipment.
  • Ensure gauges/measuring equipment are stored according to company SOP/IATF requirements.
  • Report any measuring equipment not stored accordingly to the department manager.
  • Ensure all checking fixtures/gauges are maintained, including cleaning and replacing missing items.
  • Champion inspection and testing of products/services being procured and control laboratory consumables such as sodium persulfate, sodium chloride, blades, discs, grinders, drills, stones, grease, oil, brake fluid, IMTE, etc.
  • Produce monthly report: product audits, calibration status, functional testing, weld pen status.
  • Maintain customer KPI regarding QPR, PPM, SSN, downtime & warranty.
  • Actively involved in a monthly stock take.
  • Metal pressing, welding, metal finishing, coating, moulding, trim, assemblies experience.
  • Support quality training regarding inspection sheets, CF WI and quality alert.
  • Issue audit report to supplier and follow up on any open items from the audit.
  • Deliver project quality documentation as per milestones.
  • Actively involved in SPTTs (Supplier Parts Tracking Team).
  • Support SQT and external/internal suppliers to ensure product quality is achieved prior to delivery according to APQP/customer requirements/VDA6.3/IATF.
  • Support supplier quality issues and ensure effective implementation of corresponding quality control measures.
  • Support internal process & system audit and issue reports.
Job Requirements
  • Grade 12 compulsory.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Quality or Electro‑Mechanical.
  • Qualified VDA 6.3 Process Auditor (advantageous).
  • Qualified IATF internal and 3rd‑party Process Auditor (advantageous).
  • At least 3 years relevant experience.
  • Computer skills.
  • Exposure to quality control / quality assurance / quality engineering systems within the automotive manufacturing industry.
