Job Summary

Are you a Property Accountant looking for a new challenge?

Join a well-established Landlord with a portfolio that runs across the entire South Africa. Passionate about Urban regeneration, they have spent the past 2 decades providing high-class student accommodation services. They are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join their Johannesburg-based team. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will be responsible for daily management of accounting department functions.

The role involves managing the General Ledger, ensuring accurate reconciliations, investigating variances, and preparing reports. Responsibilities include overseeing fixed assets, payroll accuracy, creditors / payables, debtors / receivables, and cash / bank reconciliations. Additionally, you will be responsible for VAT and loan management, preparing year-end audit schedules, and supervising finance staff to ensure compliance, timely reporting, and staff development. Key performance indicators include reconciliation accuracy, timely corrections, and detailed variance commentary for management accounts. Furthermore, the role supports ad-hoc finance-related activities and maintains accurate financial records.

To qualify for this position, you will require :

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related subject.
  • 3 years' experience in a similar Accountancy position.
  • Proven experience using Oracle.
