Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in South Africa is seeking a Project Manager to oversee project delivery from start to finish. The role involves managing stakeholders, ensuring adherence to Quality Management Systems (QMS), and supporting a team of Project Coordinators and Facilitators. A NQF level 7 qualification in project management and 7-8 years of relevant experience are required. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft tools are essential. This position offers a competitive annual remuneration.

Project Manager

Duties & Responsibilities
Project Management

Ensure that the project produces the required deliverables of quality within the specified time constraints and costs and achieves the project timelines and deliverables. Full project life cycle ownership to ensure successful project delivery, including full implementation from initiation to completion. Ensure that all projects are delivered in the most cost-effective manner to guarantee Gross Profit (GP) or even improve on it, hence keeping operational costs of each project at optimal levels and come in below budget where possible. Constant communication and reporting to clients.

Project Setup

Draw up a training schedule in consultation with relevant stakeholders, ensuring that the schedule meets all agreed objectives. Ensure that Facilitators, Assessors and Moderators understand the scope of work and timely delivery for each project. Manage risks and implement deviations where necessary and implement new strategies if the project does not follow the schedule.

Project Implementation

Conduct monitoring visits to ensure that the training is on schedule, Portfolios of Evidence (POE's) are up to date, learners are attending training sessions and that the workplace is adequate. Ensure that status report is up to date on a weekly basis. Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Adherence to Policies & Systems

Adhere to the Company’s policies and procedures. Learner Management System (LMS) & Client Portal: Ensure that information is updated and maintained on the Learner Management System (LMS).

Reporting & File Management

Submit Monthly Client Feedback Reports to clients on learners’ status and progress on a bi‑weekly basis or when required. Set up project files and client e‑folders.

Functional Support

Liaise with functional support teams and adhere to service level agreements. Build and maintain relationships with the host site’s learners and clients through regular contact.

People Management

Employees: Manage and support Project Coordinators, Facilitators, Assessors and Internal Moderators. Learners: Manage the onboarding and orientation of learners, oversee attendance registers for workplace experience and training while addressing and managing any absences. Manage the resolution of learner appeals on assessment. Manage remediation and ensure that it is completed by Facilitators after each cluster assessment.

Recruitment & Performance

Facilitators, Assessors and Internal Moderators: Proactively manage the sourcing and recruiting of facilitators, assessors and moderators with the assistance of the Talent team. Interview applicants with the assistance of Talent team. Plan and schedule the training clusters as required for the project. Manage the performance of Project Coordinators, Facilitators, Assessors and Internal Moderators and escalates poor performance to the Senior Project Manager (SPM). Ensure Facilitator, Assessor and Mentor orientation takes place on all new projects and accredited programmes.

Requirements
  • Matric.
  • NQF level 7 qualification in project management or a similar field.
  • 7 to 8 years’ experience in a similar industry and / or role.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (Advanced).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Senior and Executive Management.
  • Commitment to excellence, outstanding work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license with own reliable vehicle.
