Job description

A growing engineering and renewable energy project environment is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to manage and coordinate engineering projects from design through to handover. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are delivered to required quality, safety, budget, and performance standards, while acting as a key technical and client-facing resource throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering projects from initiation to completion
• Support the development of project designs, plans, and technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements
• Manage project budgets, cost estimates, and progress billing in collaboration with finance teams
• Liaise with clients to communicate project progress, timelines, and changes
• Coordinate internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective project execution
• Review, approve, and oversee the preparation of electrical and system design drawings
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical input during project execution
• Manage contractor compliance, certifications, and contractual deliverables
• Ensure smooth project handover to operations and maintenance team

Job Experience & Skills Required

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Proven experience managing engineering or renewable energy projects
• Strong knowledge of project coordination, construction processes, and quality control
• Experience with design and analysis software and engineering documentation tools
• Working knowledge of industry contracts, safety legislation, and engineering standards
• Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and solutions-focused approach
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
