A vacancy exists for a Production Supervisor at our Durban Manufacturing factory in Westmead.

Overall scope of role The Production Supervisor is responsible for general supervision of the production packing staff to meet the production schedule, productivity and quality objectives.

Responsibilities include training and ensuring disciplined work environment is maintained. This person must have at least 5 years of experience in first line supervision in production environment.

• Receive instructions from and reports to Manufacturing Manager
• Communicates and receives planned production demand requirements daily from the production planner
• Communicates daily progress on production plan to stakeholders to ensure smooth material and production flow
• Communicates and directs production staff to achieve product plan efficiently Communicates and coordinates machine breakdowns to maintenance
• Communicates schedule deviations and material availability issues to stores personnel and production planner

Skills, qualifications and experience needed

• Matric / Studying towards a Degree
• Must be able to communicate in English and Zulu
• 5+ years experience in managing shop floor production staff
• Preferred experience in application of lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent at conflict resolution, communication skills, relationship building and constructive feedback
