Job Summary

The Group Procurement Function supports strategic goals such as cost management, enterprise and supplier development, risk, and governance. The successful candidate will manage a procurement portfolio, supporting the Procurement / Category Manager and business stakeholders by applying procurement and sourcing skills, analytical capabilities, and supply chain knowledge.

Job Description

Accountabilities:

  • Assist the Procurement / Category Manager and Head of Procurement with information and analysis for negotiations and related processes.
  • Assess suppliers’ capabilities and performance through data collection and analysis.
  • Manage RFP / RFQ / RFI (“RFx”) processes, analyzing and executing results.
  • Ensure contracts comply with standards, legislation, and AGL policies.
  • Gather and analyze information from internal and external sources as requested.
  • Contribute to category and commodity strategy development and support execution.
  • Draft and maintain strategic contracts.
  • Understand services, SLAs, and contracting based on deliverables.
  • Conduct supplier screening and due diligence using preferred tools.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and collaborate with Supplier Management.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Participate in personal development within the procurement team.
  • Generate reports and queries as required.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data for procurement reports.
  • Assist in developing TCO models and cost improvement strategies.
  • Support supplier diversity initiatives and enterprise development.
  • Engage with other procurement teams for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking.
  • Implement and track procurement cost savings plans.
  • Maintain procurement documentation on the system.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
  • CIPS / MCIPS certification is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years’ procurement and sourcing experience.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Business and financial acumen, including cost management and spend analysis.
  • Experience with multiple categories and banking procurement is a plus.
  • Knowledge of supply chain tools and ERP systems (Coupa experience preferred).
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and computer skills, especially in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies is required.
