Job summary

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the department.

Job description

Our Client, a market leader in the Packaging and Recycling Industry, is seeking to employ a Printer Assistant to their Production Department based in Port Elizabeth.

This is an urgent requirement and 6 printer assistants are required.

Requirements:
  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Qualification in Trade of Corrugated Board Printing and Finishing Machine Minding.
  • Computer literacy essential.
  • Understanding of ink viscosity and colour matching.
  • Able and willing to work shifts and overtime when required.
  • Proactive, responsible, and reliable.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Assist the operator to set up the machine using best operating practices.
  • Support the operator with Abaca and Shopware feedback when applicable.
  • Assist the operator during production to ensure the highest level of productivity.
  • Monitor product quality at all times and report any deviations to the operator.
  • Operate the machine at a competent level in the absence of the operator.
  • Carry out all reasonable instructions from the supervisor.
  • Motivate, organize, and mentor the machine crew.
  • Ensure that housekeeping within the department is maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure adherence to all ISO procedures and principles.
  • Be proactive and participative in improving machine availability and performance.
