We are seeking an experienced Survey Pilot based in Johannesburg to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and success of our aerial data collection missions. The ideal candidate will have excellent flying skills, strong situational awareness, and the ability to collaborate closely with onboard survey teams.

Responsibilities
  • Check weather conditions to ensure they are suitable for takeoff and flight as per project requirements.
  • Perform flight planning with the aircraft systems engineer to optimize flying hours, considering ATC, CAA, ferry, and weather restrictions.
  • Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
  • Ensure all aircraft equipment meets specific modification requirements.
  • Coordinate with technical crew regarding the project and planned flight paths.
  • Liaise with air traffic controllers to ensure flight plans reflect expected conditions.
  • Maintain the aircraft logbook daily, recording flight status and technical issues.
  • Update the logbook to manage scheduled maintenance and ensure timely servicing.
  • Book aircraft into maintenance facilities for planned or unexpected repairs.
  • Operate the aircraft safely and efficiently to maximize capability and minimize costs.
  • Check all instruments before and after takeoff for safety.
  • Keep personal logbook updated with flight times, ensuring compliance with SACAA regulations.
Qualifications
