Job Description
Pro-actively deliver on and achieve set and agreed sales targets, through the development and ‘mining’ of the ‘sales pipeline’ and ‘cold calling’ on existing, new and potentially new merchants, earmarked in the Tier 1, 2 & enterprise markets. Conform with the related compliance, legislation, internal & external policies, scheme rules and procedures, to ensure that the sales, product and operational risks are managed and maintained.
Responsibilities
Profit & Revenue Management
- Pro-actively execute on the agreed sales strategy and business plan, to achieve sales targets and improve bottom-line revenue.
- Structure and calculate positive revenue generated commercial deals/transactions, for sign-off.
- Ensure on-going strategic initiatives are continuously and correctly interpreted, evaluated and implemented in the maintenance and effectiveness of the sales environment.
Product Management
- Have a clear, solid understanding of the organisation’s product, benefits and service offerings.
- Pro-actively present the targeted merchant base from the ’sales pipeline’, with the correct and most suitable solution and/or benefit(s), to meet their e-Commerce needs and requirements.
- Interpret merchant requirements and timeously address and resolve merchant queries.
- Continuously share and present Product & Marketing with merchant requirements and needs.
Process Management
- Strictly adhere to company policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the optimal functioning and target achievements.
- Ensure streamlined workflow of daily administrative and sales tasks.
- Consolidate and present regular and/or ad-hoc information for management reporting.
- Focus on continuous improvement of manual processes and apply technology, wherever possible.
- Participate in and contribute to quarterly performance appraisals.
- Meet daily workflow, turnaround, co-ordination and SLA management requirements.
Personal Development
- Embrace on-going training, cross-training and-up-skilling – foster a climate of continuous learning.
- Prepare and sign-off PDP’s and take ownership of own career development.
Stakeholder Management
- Foster mutual beneficial relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage with Marketing on leads, pipeline generation/improvement and marketing initiatives via the different and available medias.
Governance & Compliance
- Review, propose and update Sales related documents/templates regularly, to meet merchant needs.
- Ensure that sales related, legislation and regulatory requirements, including reputational risks are adhered to and minimised and product and operational risks are maintained and controlled.
- Stay abreast of Compliance requirements, Consumer Protection Act, AML, etc.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).
- Diploma in Business Administration and/or Banking Diploma (beneficial).
Skills/ Experience Required
- 3 years Sales experience (essential).
- Pro-active, cold-calling & pipeline development sales experience.
- 3 -5 years in the e-Commerce & Payments industry, preferably with acquiring & issuing experience (beneficial).
