Requirements
  • Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification that allows registration as an independent Practitioner. No experience required after registration as a Medical Registrar. Must have completed Post Community Service. Registration with HPCSA for the financial year 2025/26. The incumbent will be rotated between institutions. The following will be added advantages: Work experience in the field of Orthopaedics.; CMSA part 1 examinations; auxiliary courses relevant to the field of Orthopaedics.
Duties
  • Render clinical services and show academic progression and complete research dissertation within the four-year contract. Patient care for all in- and outpatients in the department as per rotation. Consultations from and to all departments of SBAH on Registrar level. Supervise all rotating pre-graduate students, Interns and junior colleagues in the clinical practice. Rotation to sub-specialties and facilities accredited by the University of Pretoria.

  • These positions will be joint appointments between the Gauteng Department of Health and the following academic institutions: University of Witwatersrand /University of Pretoria and/ Sefako Makgatho University. Preference will be given to South African citizens. The performance of normal and commuted overtime is not mandatory, however it will be based on the operational needs of the hospitals.
