Job Summary

This role involves assisting Resident Engineers with technical and design issues, supervising site operations, ensuring compliance with approved designs and safety standards, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer and Job Manager with technical and design issues at site and report to Job Manager.
• Provide standing supervision as directed by the Resident Engineer and / or Consultant team.
• Conduct regular site checks beyond inspection requests, identifying and reporting unacceptable observations to Senior Resident Engineer, Resident Engineer, and Consultant Team, and collaborating on resolution.
• Review construction drawings to highlight discrepancies between or within disciplines prior to installation.
• Ensure all work follows approved drawings and specifications.
• Enforce adequate safety precautions on site.
• Resolve site issues and ensure timely project completion.
• Attend site meetings, inspections, testing, and commissioning.
• Maintain site and inspection records with proper sign-off.

Requirements

• Minimum a Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES.
• Minimum 8 years' experience as a Resident Technical Officer on local projects.
• Experience supervising Building / Mechanical / Electrical Services installation for local hospitals, healthcare institutions, or commercial developments.
• Familiarity with local codes and regulations.

Ability to respond to technical questions.
