Job Overview

Job Description: Provide legal solutions to legal and business challenges within a business area, mitigate legal risks and partner with the business on the implementation of policies to comply with legal and regulatory requirements in relation to business processes.

To consult with internal clients to understand business requirements and provide sound legal advice pertaining to the drafting, vetting, review, dissemination and/or negotiation of legal documentation and processes, providing clear legal direction based on sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review and manage the contracting process from inception to implementation – this will include any partnership agreements, occasional IT and technology agreements and master services agreements
  • Apply legal risk management principles to reviews of marketing material and communicate these principles effectively to internal stakeholders
  • Establish mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders – the main stakeholder relationships will be with the various internal eBucks departments (such as partner management, technology and marketing)
  • Apply a customer‑centric approach, to ensure customer satisfaction, starting with internal customers
  • Work in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure environment
  • Work independently and deliver to a high standard without needing constant supervision
  • Think out of the box, be innovative and provide business‑appropriate advice while keeping legal risk management principles in mind
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviour through personal involvement, commitment, and dedication in support of organisational values
  • Maintain expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives and relevant industry practices and be able to find application for this within the existing environment, whilst always striving to limit the risk exposure of the Group
Ideal Candidate
  • Have an LLB degree and have been admitted as an attorney
  • A honed ability to draft and review commercial contracts, review marketing material and attend to customer legal complaints in a dynamic and fast‑changing environment and exceptional attention to detail
  • Are a cooperative person who enjoys building relationships with stakeholders across a large business
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar environment, of which 1 to 2 years is ideally at junior specialist level
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating agreements with external service providers will definitely be advantageous
