Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage the full Debtors function and reconciliations for various branches.   • Preparation of customs documents and invoices for stock to African branches.

Job description
Main duties
  • Full Debtors function for branches as assigned by management.
  • Loading of all payments on the banking systems.
  • Local supplier reconciliations
  • Foreign Creditor reconciliations
  • Updating and Maintaining of FNB Recipients folders on FNB – in line with Company Policy.
  • Square meter report for the Operations Director
  • Shipping income and expense report.
  • Full accounting function relating to the Zambia branch
  • Preparation of customs documents and invoice for stock to African branches (Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique).
Additional Requirements
  • Speak – Read – Write – English fluently.
  • Proficiency in Afrikaans will also be beneficial
  • A completed diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience (3 years) in accounting/bookkeeping is essential.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge is important, as well as being computer literate in Word and Outlook.
  • Must be a logical thinker and numeric competency is non-negotiable.
  • Deadline driven; and ability to work independently and within a team
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks effectively
  • Professional, reliable, and a strong team player with good communication skills
  • Own Transport and living on the East Rand is advantageous.
Additional information
  • Salary increases take place during June of every year
  • Work hours are from 08h00-17h00, Mon to Fri.
  • A mandatory three-month probation period
  • Membership to the Provident Fund is compulsory after the successful completion of the probation period. The contribution rate is 10% of the basic salary per month, which is split 3,5% Employee Contribution and 6,5% Company Contribution.
  • There is no medical aid offered.
  • Should a13th cheque be offered during December this would be at the sole discretion of Management.
  • Company uniform to be worn Mon – Fri (supplied by the company)
  • 15 days leave per annum – PAID annual leave is to be taken during the industry shut-down period in December and January. Annual leave can be taken during the year, but it will be unpaid.
