Job Opportunity at 1Nebula

The IT Manager plays a key role in overseeing and improving the organisation’s internal IT systems, infrastructure, and day-to-day technology operations. You will lead the internal IT function and manage third-party vendors to maintain and enhance hardware, software, networks, and security protocols. The role includes developing and implementing IT policies, driving risk mitigation efforts, and ensuring operational excellence across the environment. As the primary point of contact for IT strategy, upgrades, and technical support, the IT Manager balances stability with innovation to continuously strengthen organisational performance.

What You will do within this role (Your key responsibilities)
  • Monitor company server infrastructure and ensure proper escalation of alerts
  • Administer Exchange and Active Directory, including new user creation, password resets, and account lockouts
  • Follow up on all unresolved requests/incidents
  • Raise and manage incidents with 3rd party vendors
  • Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, mentoring, and training to junior IT team members
  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of the company’s servers, storage systems, and network infrastructure
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect IT assets, data, and networks, ensuring compliance with internal policies, SOC, ISO standards, and other relevant regulations
  • Handle complex technical issues and incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Implement and oversee change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption during system updates and upgrades
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date technical documentation, prepare reports for management, and communicate IT‑related updates to stakeholders
  • Ensure IT and Security compliance across all systems and processes, including adherence to SOC and ISO standards, audits, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and develop the IT team, including performance management, resource planning, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Responsible for asset register maintenance and management
  • Responsible for both OPEX and CAPEX management
  • Vendor management
  • Manage alignment with POPIA
  • Available for standby duty, depending on operational requirements

Cloud & Infrastructure (Azure & AWS)
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure: Entra ID/Azure AD, VMs, Storage, Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall/VPN Gateway, Monitor & Log Analytics, Defender for Cloud, App Services, and Backup/DR.
  • Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals
Core Infrastructure & Networking
  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PowerShell basics, Certificate Services, Backup/Restore, and file/print services.
  • Networking knowledge including VLANs, routing/switching, firewalls (SonicWall & Azure NSG), VPN (site-to-site & point-to-site), and wireless security.
Security & Compliance
  • Experience with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 practices, vulnerability management, DR/BCP frameworks, and governance.
  • Familiarity with tools such as DeepSight360, Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Sentinel, MFA, Conditional Access, and security baselines.
Collaboration & Productivity (Microsoft 365)
  • Experience administering Exchange Online, Teams & Teams Phone System, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune/Endpoint Manager, DLP, and Compliance Center.
Monitoring & Observability
  • Working knowledge of Azure Monitor, NinjaOne, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and basic Sentinel hunting queries.
ITSM & Governance
  • Understanding of ITIL fundamentals, change and incident management, problem management, asset lifecycle management, documentation, and service desk tools (e.g., Jira).
