Job summary

A leading global packaging and paper company located in Durban is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Mechanician to supervise and direct the instrumentation team. The ideal candidate will have a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include ensuring health and safety compliance, delivering team reports, and fostering customer relationships. Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of experience as a qualified Instrumentation Mechanician in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1 – 2 years of leadership experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to meet health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Job description
  • Supervise and direct the instrumentation team.
  • Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality requirements are met at all times
  • Ensure relevant and cost effective instrumentation team actions
  • Foster and maintain customer and supplier relations
  • Implement team KPI’s that are aligned to the departmental plan
  • Instrumentation technical team support
  • Deliver weekly and monthly team reports
  • Deliver specific actions within the project environment
  • Ensure a high standard of instrumentation maintenance and continuous improvement implementation to ensure on-going plant availability
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly and annual shut-down and maintenance planning

Your Profile:

  • Matric plus N4 (Supervisory Management)
  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current)
  • BTech would be advantageous
  • 3 - 5 years of experience as qualified Instrumentation Mechanician within a manufacturing environment
  • 1 – 2 Years of leadership experience would be advantageous
