Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the incinerator on board a cruise ship according to company and industry standards.
- Ensure proper incineration of waste materials, including garbage, food waste, and hazardous waste.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of the incinerator, including changing filters and disposing of ash.
- Monitor and record incinerator performance, including temperature, emissions, and fuel consumption.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with other crew members and superiors to coordinate waste management operations.
- Keep accurate records of waste incineration and disposal in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and report any issues or malfunctions with the incinerator to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to incinerator operation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating and maintaining an incinerator, preferably in a marine or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of incinerator operation and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with waste management regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
