A leading e-commerce retailer in Johannesburg is seeking a Team Leader to manage day-to-day operations in a fulfillment center. This role involves planning staffing, ensuring safety and quality, and tracking production metrics. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1 year of experience with Microsoft Office tools, as well as physical capability to lift and stand for extended hours. As a 3p Team Leader you’ll plan beyond your own needs ensuring sufficient resourcing of your function. You will identify training needs, manage absence and performance, coach and continuously monitor your department to foster a productivity culture. You’ll supervise day‑to‑day activities for inbound or outbound FC operations, ensuring overall safety, quality, performance, and member experience. You will set and clarify departmental requirements, create teamwork and open communication, understand safety procedures, and document accidents/incidents timely. You will prioritize appropriately, meet deadlines, exhibit professional behaviour, and cope well with ambiguity and change. You will drive results, proactively address obstacles, enforce consistent company policies, source and nurture improvement ideas, share best practices across departments and shifts, and collaborate with HR, Facilities, Safety, and IT to secure support for projects. You will track production metrics, use data for strategies and reporting, assist with long‑term operational plans, mentor and develop staff, recognise top performance, coach for discipline when needed, implement equipment and process improvements, review time‑cards for pay accuracy, and perform other duties flexibly, even during extended hours and holidays.
Note: you are expected to arrive at least 30 minutes early and remain 30 minutes post‑shift to complete pass‐downs, reports, and time‑card reviews.
