Job summary

A leading regional HVAC service provider is seeking an experienced HVAC Air Conditioning Technician to join their Perseverance team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and be knowledgeable in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems. Responsibilities include diagnosing system issues, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. A Grade 12 education and a Trade Tested Refrigeration Mechanic/Electrician certification are required for this position.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience as a Technician in HVAC/Refrigeration.
• Strong knowledge of electrical components and control systems.
• Valid driver's license required.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Air Conditioning Technician to join the Perseverance team.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, and thermostats
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues using specialized tools and testing equipment
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Recharge refrigerants and ensure proper handling according to environmental standards
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Replace or repair defective components (motors, compressors, fans, thermostats, etc.)
• Calibrate systems for maximum efficiency and comfort
• Keep accurate maintenance records and service reports
• Communicate with clients or site personnel to explain work done and offer maintenance advice
• Comply with all local HVAC codes, safety standards, and company procedures

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Trade Tested Refrigeration Mechanic / Electrician
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Technician in HVAC/Refrigeration
• Valid Safe Handling of Refrigerants Certificate (advantageous)
• Strong knowledge of electrical components, wiring, and control systems
• Valid driver's license
• Candiate must reside in PE / Uitenhage area
