Role Overview:

LA Brands is looking for a proactive and experienced HR Generalist with strong Industrial Relations (IR) and Recruitment expertise to join our team! This role will provide comprehensive HR support across our Retail, Head Office, and Warehouse operations.

Key Result Areas:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, screening, interviews, and reference checks.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure quick, effective placements.
  • Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline for key positions.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and induction programs to ensure a smooth transition.
Industrial Relations (IR) & Employee Relations:
  • Provide guidance and support on labor laws, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Handle disciplinary hearings, investigations, and CCMA cases when required.
  • Ensure compliance with South African labor laws and company policies.
  • Advise managers and employees on best IR practices to maintain a positive work environment.
Performance Management & Employee Development:
  • Assist in performance appraisal processes and provide feedback mechanisms.
  • Work with managers to develop training and development programs.
  • Support succession planning initiatives to promote career growth within the company.
HR Administration & Compliance:
  • Ensure all employee records and contracts are up to date and stored securely.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee data.
  • Maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with South African Laws.
  • Coordinate Employment Equity and Health and Safety compliance and reporting.
HR Strategy & Culture Development:
  • Assist in employee engagement initiatives and wellness programs.
  • Support change management and organizational development projects.
  • Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
Requirements:
  • Completed Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist experience, with a strong focus on IR & Recruitment.
  • In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws, disciplinary processes, and CCMA procedures.
  • Experience working in a Retail, Head Office, or Warehouse environment is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HR systems, Microsoft Office, and data reporting tools.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
  • A team player with a passion for people and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle – ability to travel between company locations when required.
