Construction HR Manager

Location: Cape Town

Salary: ± R50,000 CTC per month

A leading Building Contractor based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Construction HR Manager to manage and oversee all human resources functions within a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all HR operations across multiple construction sites and head office
  • Ensure full compliance with BIBC agreements, labour legislation, and statutory requirements
  • Handle industrial relations, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, and CCMA matters
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and workforce planning for site and staff personnel
  • Advise management on labour risk, workforce strategies, and employee relations
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
  • Liaise with unions, site management, and external stakeholders where required
Minimum Requirements
  • 6–8 years’ proven HR experience within the construction industry
  • Strong, practical knowledge and understanding of BIBC (essential)
  • Solid experience in industrial relations and labour law within a site-based environment
  • Relevant HR qualification (Degree / Diploma)
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to operate confidently in a high-pressure, deadline-driven construction setting
