A growing food manufacturing (FMCG) organization requires the expertise of a Health and Safety Officer. You will oversee all health and safety aspects across the plant, promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and managing site security. The role reports directly to the General Manager and involves managing staff in these critical functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and recommend preventative measures
  • Implement and execute HSE policies and procedures across the factory
  • Conducts safety audits, SHE meetings, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Train employees and contractors (Toolbox talks)
  • Maintain safety documentation, including permits, inspection records, and training files
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
Education, Experience & Skills:
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a similar field
  • HSE certifications (OSHA, SAMTRAC)
  • Fire Fighting certifications
  • 4 to 5 years' experience as a Health and Safety Officer
  • Experience from FMCG/Food Production or Manufacturing is essential
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
  • Technical knowledge of OHS legislation, standards, and best practices
Pay range and compensation package:

R35 000 to R40 000 CTC per month
