Job description

An insurance company with a focus on emerging markets in Africa is seeking a Head of Finance, based in Centurion, Gauteng.

The primary purpose of this role is the daily management of the Finance department to ensure operational efficiency and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, maintain, and implement operational controls to enhance financial efficiency.
2. Ensure full compliance with manuals and policies.
3. Prepare timely financial reports for stakeholders.
4. Conduct weekly cash flow projections.
5. Collaborate with the CFO to manage ECIC's financial resources effectively.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation.

Requirements

• CA(SA) qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years post-article experience in a supervisory or management role within a finance department; preference for candidates from the financial or insurance sectors.
• Proficiency in information technology, including advanced Excel, AX, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS, Tax legislation, Auditing, PFMA.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Excellent financial statement analysis skills.
• Outstanding written and spoken English communication skills.

Salary: R1 million per annum.
