Description
The Head of Digital Experience is accountable for the strategic ownership and performance of the organization’s digital ecosystem, including web platforms, digital architecture, analytics, and future eCommerce and API-enabled solutions. The role ensures that digital platforms are scalable, secure, data-driven, and aligned with business objectives, while providing actionable performance insights to support informed decision-making and sustainable digital growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the organization’s digital landscape strategy in alignment with business, growth, and brand objectives
- Own the architecture, performance, scalability, and user experience of all websites and digital platforms
- Lead the optimization of SEO, paid media, and digital acquisition channels in collaboration with marketing teams
- Establish and maintain digital performance frameworks, KPIs, and analytics standards across platforms
- Design and deliver operational dashboards and performance reporting for internal stakeholders using Microsoft Power BI and related tools
- Lead the strategic planning and readiness for future eCommerce platforms, online portals, and API-driven digital services
- Ensure all digital platforms meet required standards for security, performance, accessibility, and governance
- Translate complex technical and performance data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership
- Collaborate closely with IT, Marketing, Product, and external vendors to deliver integrated digital solutions
- Stay abreast of emerging digital trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously evolve the digital landscape
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Formal Education (preferred, not mandatory)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Digital Marketing, or Business.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MSc in Digital Transformation, Data Analytics) is a plus for strategy-heavy scope.
Certifications
- Cloud/Architecture: AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Azure Administrator/Architect; Google Cloud Architect (nice-to-have).
- Web & DevOps: ITIL (service management), Agile/Scrum Product Owner/PM; Kubernetes basics if microservices are in play.
- Analytics & Data: Google Analytics 4 (GA4) certification; Power BI Data Analyst Associate; Tag Management (GTM) proficiency.
- Marketing/Growth: Google Ads, Meta Ads, SEO (e.g., BrightEdge/SEMRush Academy), Adobe or HubSpot credentials.
- Security & Compliance: ISO 27001 awareness; POPIA (South Africa) and GDPR compliance knowledge.
