A global trading business is seeking a senior finance professional to join its Group Finance leadership team in a broad, hands-on role. This permanent position requires strong expertise across group reporting, budgeting, consolidation and financial governance within a complex, deadline-driven environment. The role is hybrid-based, operating from the Sandton office, and offers a salary range of R1.4 – R1.7 million CTC for a qualified CA, or R1.0 – R1.4 million CTC for a non-CA, depending on experience. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and international stakeholders within a flat, collaborative structure.
Lead the group budgeting and forecasting process across multiple entities
Maintain, enhance and implement changes to the group planning and consolidation systems
Prepare and consolidate group budgets and forecasts, including reporting outputs
Provide backup support for holding company budgets and forecasts
Oversee group consolidation and management reporting
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual group financial reports
Manage the month-end process, including consolidations, flashes and commentary
Prepare year-end financial statements and manage the audit process in liaison with group auditors
Prepare board, committee and ad-hoc reporting packs for senior leadership
Support tax compliance, statutory reporting and audit requirements
Treasury, Risk & Systems
Manage treasury activities, cash flow forecasting and financial risk processes
Maintain general ledger integrity, including intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Create and maintain customer, vendor and master data within the ERP system
Partner with IT on ERP system changes, implementations and upgrades
Support transfer pricing documentation, automation tools and compliance
Contribute to ESG reporting, policies, carbon reporting and related analysis
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
Partner with local and international stakeholders across the business
Support strategic finance initiatives and continuous process improvement
Provide guidance and oversight to junior finance team members where required
CA(SA) preferred; strong non-CA candidates with relevant experience will be considered
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a commercially orientated group finance or financial accounting role
Proven experience in group consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and standards
Experience in complex, multi-entity and/or international environments
Highly organised, deadline-driven with strong problem-solving ability
Systems savvy with strong ERP and advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Stable career history with a collaborative, hands-on and pragmatic mindset
Hybrid working model (3 days in the Sandton office / 2 days remote)
