Financial Manager CA (SA) – Driving evolution! A local, high-growth, dynamic and energetic manufacturer and supplier of stationery and books is looking for a highly experienced Financial Manager CA (SA) to join the team. Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will be responsible and accountable for the management of all accounting and financial activities of the Company.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and liaise with auditors.
- Manage submission of annual tax returns, monthly VAT returns, and all related tax compliance.
- Run external and internal audits.
- Oversee BEE reporting and compliance.
- Assist with weekly cashflow and profit forecast.
- Assist with monthly review of management accounts.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure effective internal controls.
- Assist with monthly preparation of exco packs and trial balance submission to Group Finance.
- Assist with preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecast.
- Ensure internal controls are adhered to.
- Assist with monthly processes and ensure that month end deadlines are reached timeously.
- Participation in the strategic management of the Company.
- Includes monthly financial reporting packs to holding company.
- Monthly exco pack (including management accounts) ahead of exco meetings.
- Preparation of annual budget, quarterly forecasts, weekly profit forecast, and cash forecasts.
- Related commercial reporting.
- Effective management of working capital.
- Provide a high standard of financial controls and strong directional financial leadership.
- Ensure adherence to holding company reporting standards and policies.
- Develop & maintain effective relationships and communication with subordinates, sales staff, group finance, and executive management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- South African with a valid South African ID.
- Completed Matric.
- Own reliable transport with valid drivers licence.
- Must currently be residing in Johannesburg.
- Experience with Accounting Software Packages.
- Well versed in Microsoft Packages specifically MS Excel.
- Technically sound in tax and IFRS.
- Ability to communicate well and help manage the finance team.
- Importing and distribution experience will be highly beneficial.
- Must have a good understanding of written and verbal communication.
- Must be able to work independently and be responsible enough to work without supervision.
- Must be a Self‑Starter.
- Ability to work in a self‑driven, complex environment with multiple and changing priorities.
- Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables.
- Expertise in financial planning & control preferably with import and distribution exposure.
The Position
Office based permanent position situated in Germiston. The pay range on offer is R************ to R************ (Negotiable) CtC Package Per Annum.
