Job summary

An agricultural and food processing company is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the financial function of its abattoir operations in Limpopo, South Africa. The Finance Manager will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making in a high-volume environment. Candidates should possess a degree in Accounting or Financial Management and have at least 5 years of senior finance experience. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in a senior finance role within manufacturing, agriculture, or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, taxation, and cost accounting.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and audit coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full finance function including accounts, budgets, forecasts, and reporting.

  • Lead financial planning, analysis, and performance monitoring.

  • Ensure compliance with SARS, SARB, and statutory regulations.

  • Oversee audit processes, tax compliance, and risk management.

  • Support business growth through cost control and profitability improvement.

  • Maintain and optimise ERP and financial systems.

  • Manage credit control, cash flow, and treasury functions.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, driving accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with operations and head office to align financial and business strategies.

Qualifications & Experience
  • BCom / BTech / BSc in Accounting or Financial Management (CA(SA) advantageous).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance role within manufacturing, agriculture, or FMCG sectors.

  • Strong understanding of IFRS, taxation, and cost accounting.

  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, Xero) and advanced Excel.

  • Proven experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and audit coordination.
