A leading fertiliser supply company, providing a wide range of high-quality white label products to clients across South Africa, is looking to expand its footprint by appointing a dynamic Sales Representative. This role is ideal for a driven individual with a passion for agriculture and strong sales acumen. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the client base, managing key relationships, and driving sales performance while working on a basic salary with an aggressive commission structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • New business development – identify and secure new clients across the agricultural sector.

  • Manage and maintain client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Use and update the CRM system to track leads, opportunities, sales, and follow-ups.

  • Schedule and coordinate logistics for timely delivery of fertilizer products.

  • Work closely with suppliers and logistics service providers to ensure smooth supply chain operations.

  • Conduct market research to identify potential growth areas and competitor activity.

  • Provide clients with product knowledge and technical support on fertilizer usage and benefits.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to close deals effectively.

  • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.

  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates for management.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in agricultural input sales (fertilizer, seed, chemicals, or related).

  • Strong business development and negotiation skills.

  • Knowledge of agricultural practices and seasonal crop cycles.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Business, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in sales within the agriculture sector.

  • Established network of farmers, cooperatives, or distributors will be advantageous.
