A leading agricultural firm in East London is seeking an experienced Fruit Cultivation Manager to oversee the cultivation of apples and pears. Candidates should have solid experience in pome fruit cultivation, be results-driven, and possess strong management and communication skills. This role requires maintaining compliance with agricultural regulations and managing all farming activities on a 120-hectare site.
Solid experience (5-10 years) in the cultivation of pome fruit.
A relevant tertiary qualification will strengthen the application.
Knowledge of the relevant regulations.
The farming activities involve the cultivation of apples and pears on approximately 120 hectares.

Possess above-average communication and management skills, and will be characterised by drive, independence, and the ability to motivate subordinates and optimise productivity.
Planting new fruit trees and vines, along with cultivating the soil to ensure healthy growth.
Pruning trees to maintain their shape and health and managing the irrigation system to provide the necessary water for the crops.
Spraying crops to control weeds, insects, and fungal diseases to protect the fruit.
Carefully selecting and picking ripe fruit, then sorting, grading, and packing it for sale or storage.
Using farm machinery and hand tools for various tasks, including cultivation, fertilizing, and harvesting.
Maintaining records related to farming activities and ensuring compliance with regulations.
