A leading health research unit in Soweto seeks Enrolled Nurses to assist in clinical duties. Candidates must have a valid nurse qualification, experience in phlebotomy, and a strong commitment to good clinical practice. This position requires multitasking and independent work in a research environment. The role is critical for ensuring the success of participant recruitment and adherence to study protocols.

Job Description
To assist the registered nurse/s in performance of their duties ensuring GCP and SOP adherence
PHRU - Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Soweto - Johannesburg
Ensure that screening, consenting and enrolment of participants take place in line with project protocol
Specimen collections and storage as per protocol and ensure lab request forms are adequately completed and chain of custody documents filled
Check vital signs on all participants and record vital signs and observations of participant in the source document / Case Report Form
Complete Case Referral Form at the time of participant visit for each participant visit as per CRF guidelines
Track all consented and get outcome of admission and track all “lost to follow ups” participants by means of telephone, or home visit
Ensure that Case Referral Forms are filed in participant files daily basis and data is captured on database
Respond to queries generated within acceptable time frame
Call participants who have abnormal test results and arrange for visit
Ensure Petty Cash management as per internal policy from collection, dispensing, completion of forms, reconciling and return of unused cash and obtaining signatures for requisition forms
Must be able to work independently
Liaise with Study Coordinator and PI
Matric
Qualified as an Enrolled Nurse
Valid Driver’s License with PDP
2 years post Nursing qualification experience
2 years research experience
Phlebotomy
Registered with the South African Nursing Council
Previous experience working in the wards of a general hospital
Able to multitask and thrive within normal working conditions
Ability to conduct study processes and ability to work under pressure
Good Clinical Practice / Human Subject Protection Certificate
Computer Literacy
