Overview

Pilot Tools - Engineer Position Pilot Tools, a long-established manufacturer of cemented tungsten carbide metal cutting, mining and wear part components based in Denver, Johannesburg, is seeking to employ the services of a suitable engineer to join the engineering team and fulfill a technical support role to the automatic powder compaction department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage the pressing team.
  • Manage, improve, and develop compaction techniques.
  • Find solutions to compaction defects.
  • Document pressing techniques, defects, and solutions.
  • Assist with equipment problems and document maintenance procedures.
  • Help plan production and ensure that all supporting information, tools, etc. are ready.

The job requires teamwork, good observation skills, a hands‑on approach, analytical thinking, and collaboration with other department members.

The position reports to the Company Technical Director and forms part of the Engineering Team.

Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • BSc Mechanical / Industrial Engineering – Graduate with no experience or with less than 2 years' experience.
  • BTech or M-Tech in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering – Graduate or with 1 to 2 years' experience.
