SUMMARY :

A senior leadership opportunity is available for an experienced Head of Engineering to lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering function within the renewable energy and engineering environment. This role is responsible for setting engineering strategy, driving technical excellence, managing budgets, and providing strategic input to executive leadership to support informed business decisions and long-term growth.

POSITION INFO :
Key Responsibilities :
  • Lead, manage, and develop the engineering team to achieve technical, commercial, and operational objectives
  • Define and drive engineering strategy aligned with business goals and market developments
  • Oversee the design and modelling of energy systems, including storage and micro-grid solutions
  • Manage engineering budgets, cost estimates, and resource planning
  • Approve engineering designs, technical solutions, and project budgets
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and quality requirements
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to maintain competitiveness
  • Represent the engineering function at industry events and stakeholder engagements
  • Provide strategic input at executive and management forums
  • Drive performance management, training, and continuous professional development within the team
Job Experience & Skills Required :
  • Degree in Engineering with postgraduate qualification preferred
  • Extensive experience in engineering leadership, ideally within renewable energy or power environments
  • Strong understanding of energy system design, engineering software, and industry standards
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, approve designs, and oversee complex engineering projects
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Innovative, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven leadership approach
