Our client seeks an Electrical & Controls Engineer to join a cutting-edge research and development project now entering its final phase before commercialisation. This position sits at the intersection of electrical engineering, control systems, R&D, and field testing—ideal for an engineer who thrives in hands‑on environments and wants to contribute directly to a world‑first innovation.

Requirements
  • BEng/BSc/BTech in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Power Systems, or Control Systems.
  • ECSA registration (or in progress).
  • Specialisation in power systems, power electronics, or control systems advantageous.
  • 2–5+ years in power systems, grid integration, renewable energy, or control systems engineering.
  • Exposure to prototypes, R&D environments, test rigs, or experimental technologies is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of grid‑tied systems, synchronisation, protection, and grid‑code compliance.
  • Experience with inverters, converters, and power electronics controllers.
  • Control systems knowledge: PID tuning, feedback/feedforward, safety interlocks, automation, state machines.
  • PLC programming or embedded control logic (advantageous).
  • Experience with SCADA/HMI systems and industrial instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of fault levels, protection relays, and MV/LV systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and system models.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or similar tools is beneficial.
