Job summary

A leading technology company in Boksburg is seeking an Electrification Engineer to support local and customer organizations in sustainable operations for electrification products. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a mining environment.

  • Formal exposure to Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Eg. Kanban, 6Sigma, PDCA).

  • Lead initiatives to improve reliability and performance of electrification products.
  • Monitor and report on asset performance and KPIs.
  • Develop knowledge bases using reliability engineering and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Support development of SLA and service proposals for sustainable customer operations.
  • Assist during hyper-care phase after equipment delivery.
  • Serve as a project contributor and technical expert.

Mission of the Role

It all starts with people. People like you. Join us as an Electrification Engineer. You will support local and customer organizations in preparing for sustainable operation of BEV and electrification products through technical projects, change management, coaching, mentoring, and training. You will also ensure customer satisfaction by focusing on machine performance, availability, operating costs, employee safety, and labor efficiency.

Your Mission
  • Lead initiatives to improve reliability and performance of electrification products.
  • Monitor and report on asset performance and KPIs.
  • Develop knowledge bases using reliability engineering and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Support development of SLA and service proposals for sustainable customer operations.
  • Assist during hyper-care phase after equipment delivery.
  • Serve as a project contributor and technical expert.
  • Drive implementation of Technical Service News Bulletins (TSNBs).
  • Regularly report on equipment performance.
  • Develop and implement engineering improvements.
  • Communicate performance issues to Product Companies (PCs).
  • Conduct site audits and make recommendations.
  • Maintain asset tracking tools like Machines Online (MOL).
  • Promote electrification knowledge and skills within the organization.
  • Provide training and coaching to customers on product usage and maintenance.
  • Track and report on key metrics like MTBF, MTTR, Availability, and Utilization.
  • Identify and act on operational improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and report on improvement programs.
  • Ensure adherence to Epiroc’s warranty processes and analyze warranty data.
Your Profile
  • Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering Degree or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a mining environment
  • Experience in reliability engineering and/or maintenance engineering roles
  • Formal exposure to Continuous Improvement Methodologies (Eg. Kanban, 6Sigma, PDCA etc.)
  • Experience in BI Development (PowerBi, Tableu etc.) will be an added advantage.
