Job description

Our client has a requirement for an E&I Construction Package Lead, who will be required to work on a 12-month contract basis initially in London then on site based in the Northwest.

Role Purpose

The E&I Construction Package Lead will manage and coordinate all electrical and instrumentation construction activities within assigned project packages. This role ensures delivery in line with project specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, schedule, and budget, acting as the primary interface between construction teams, engineering, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead safe and timely execution of E&I construction work scopes.
  • Plan work in accordance with project standards, procedures, and AWP methodology.
  • Develop construction strategies and approve procedures.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to avoid clashes.
  • Review AWP work packs for constructability, safety, estimates, materials, and tooling.
  • Identify and escalation construction growth requirements; liaise with Project Controls.
  • Support design changes, site surveys, and constructability reviews.
  • Attend project meetings and interface with management and client representatives.
Experience / Skills / Qualifications
  • HNC in Engineering or Trade Apprenticeship with technical qualification.
  • 10+ years’ senior experience in engineering construction, EPCM execution preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of project management systems, construction practices, and AWP methodology.
  • Experience managing staff and knowledge transfer.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and delivery-focused mindset.
  • Multi-discipline and multi-cultural team experience.
  • Proven HSSE leadership and ‘Incident-Free’ mindset.
  • Full understanding of project scope integration from construction to commissioning.
