Are you a driven property professional ready to lead large-scale developments from inception to completion?

A leading investment entity is seeking four experienced Development Managers to oversee a diverse portfolio of developments and deliver projects that exceed industry standards. This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-performance environment while shaping impactful developments across the country.

Acting on behalf of our client, we are looking for dynamic individuals who bring technical strength, strong stakeholder capability and a passion for delivering quality developments within time, cost, and regulatory parameters.

Key Duties
  • Oversee the full development lifecycle, ensuring successful project delivery from concept to completion
  • Support internal sectors to enhance portfolio value through superior development management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and industry networks to maximise development opportunities
  • Manage developments within agreed programme schedules, budgets, building regulations, and quality standards
  • Analyse and evaluate new development opportunities to maximise portfolio returns
  • Conduct assessments of existing assets and identify refurbishment and redevelopment opportunities
  • Apply value engineering principles to development concepts to ensure long-term sustainability
  • Implement best practices for appointing professional teams and contractors while staying informed of industry trends
  • Lead and mentor development professional teams, setting clear performance parameters
  • Monitor compliance with statutory requirements, building regulations and procurement guidelines
  • Implement "Green" and sustainability principles throughout the development process
Requirements
  • Honours degree or equivalent in Property Studies, Quantity Surveying or Project Management (NQF level 8)
  • 5–7 years’ experience within the built environment
  • FAIS RE05 Certificate, or willingness to obtain it within six months of employment
  • Strong financial modelling and cost-management knowledge
  • Technical expertise in asset management
  • Master’s degree in Property Studies, Quantity Surveying, Development Management or Project Management is advantageous
  • Ability to conduct feasibility studies, including advanced financial calculations
  • Proven leadership, initiative, stakeholder management and conflict-management capabilities
  • Strong presentation abilities, attention to detail and performance orientation
  • Excellent time-management and deadline-driven work style
