The Development Intern will provide valuable support to the Development Team while gaining exposure to the complete property development lifecycle. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or student eager to develop skills in project management, design, property administration, and new business development. The intern will work closely with the Development Manager and Programme Manager and collaborate with teams across Projects, Design, Property, and New Business to ensure effective coordination and execution of development initiatives.
What You'll Be Cooking Up:
Project Support
- Assist in project brief meetings by documenting scopes, timelines, and action items.
- Support the Project Management Office in tracking milestones, updating progress reports, and preparing for mid-project reviews.
- Coordinate communication between stakeholders, including contractors, designers, and operational teams.
- Attend project meetings, take minutes, and ensure timely follow‑up on action items.
Design Team Assistance
- Participate in design meetings and assist with preparing and distributing agendas and documentation.
- Collate and review store layout drawings, design comments, and council submission packs.
- Manage information flow between the design team and other departments to ensure timely delivery of drawings and approvals.
Property Administration
- Maintain property databases, filing systems, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare lease packs, compliance files, and property‑related correspondence.
- Coordinate property maintenance requests and monitor resolution timelines.
New Business Team Collaboration
- Prepare site registration submissions, due diligence packs, and internal approval documents.
- Organise prospect meetings, prepare offer‑to‑lease documents, and track new site opportunities.
- Compile market analysis, demographic data, and commercial terms for new business proposals.
General Administrative Support
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel and event logistics for the development team.
- Prepare weekly reports, presentations, and maintain accurate records of development activities.
- Conduct research and compile information as requested by managers or team leads.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 1+ years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled as a student in Property, Business, Project Management, Design, or a related field.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Works effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrates initiative in resolving issues.
- Willingness to learn new software and tools.
- Valid driver’s licence.
