Job description

Are you a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a passion for turning forecasts into action? We are seeking a Demand, Capacity & Production Planner to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring that customer demand, production capacity, and resources are perfectly aligned to achieve on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery at optimal cost.

This role is the vital link between our commercial and operational teams, ensuring customer promises are met while driving efficiency and performance on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consolidate sales forecasts, customer orders, and historical trends into a rolling demand plan.
  • Assess production capacity (machines, labor, materials, suppliers) against demand.
  • Highlight capacity gaps and recommend solutions (overtime, subcontracting, equipment changes).
  • Participate in monthly S&OP meetings to align priorities.
  • Define safety stock and buffer levels for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Conduct “what-if” analyses to anticipate risks (demand spikes, supplier delays, breakdowns).
Demand & Capacity Planning (Strategic)
  • Translate demand and capacity plans into executable weekly/daily production schedules.
  • Sequence jobs to minimize downtime, optimize changeovers, and ensure delivery.
  • Issue production orders and coordinate with shop floor teams.
  • Monitor material availability with procurement to prevent shortages.
  • Re-plan and adjust schedules in real time when disruptions occur.
  • Track adherence, downtime, and OEE performance.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and report on KPIs (forecast accuracy, OTIF, schedule adherence, capacity utilization).
  • Provide insights to refine long-term demand and capacity planning.
  • Drive improvements in planning processes, scheduling tools, and cross-functional communication.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel.
  • Balance between long-term forecasting and short-term execution.
  • Excellent communicator – able to bridge Sales, Operations, Procurement, and Management.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Resilient under pressure with the ability to adapt quickly.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in production planning, demand planning, or supply chain management (manufacturing preferred).
  • Knowledge of capacity planning, manufacturing processes, and inventory management.
