This role is vital: your mission is to assist and serve our financial planners so they can spend more time in front of clients, while also mentoring the next generation of technical specialists.
Responsibilities
- Technical Excellence: Prepare all client presentations, financial planning data, calculations, and comprehensive reports using client relations management (CRM) systems and advanced financial planning software such as Xplan, Xtools, Integrated Wealth Planner, and Asset Map.
- Workflow Leadership: Assist in the coordination, prioritisation, and monitoring of the paraplanning workflow, meeting service standards and deadlines.
- Mentorship & Coaching: Review the work of less experienced paraplanners and assist in coaching and mentoring team members; assist with new team member induction.
- Process Improvement: Assist in developing and reviewing paraplanning policies and procedures, and participate in assigned projects.
- Client Interface: Communicate directly with relevant insurance and investment companies on behalf of financial planners and clients; accompany planners to client meetings as required.
Experience & Qualifications
- Education (Preferred): Post‑Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (or studying towards) complemented by a BCom, LLB, or Advanced Certificate in Financial Planning.
- Regulatory Status (Desirable): Regulatory Examinations (RE5) and the Professional Competency Examination (PCE).
- A thorough understanding of compliance issues associated with financial advice and intermediary services.
- Strong desire to learn and grow, with critical skills in computer literacy, IT systems use, planning, administration, project management, writing, and presentation.

Job Summary

Accountability

- Attend meetings to assist executives to understand and complete their tasks to achieve team goals.
- Ad‑hoc requirements/submissions: Execute ad‑hoc queries on a daily basis that vary considerably throughout the year; attend committee meetings; provide analysis and recommendations on balance sheet optimisation; provide other departmental support as required.
Qualifications And Experience
- B‑degree in Accounting/Financial management (NQF level 6).
- 3 years Technical experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- System knowledge: financial markets, economics, decision‑making, adapting and responding to change, persuading and influencing, creating and innovating.
Education
