Qualifications

Job description
  • Prepare and cook a variety of sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards onboard the cruise ship
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, and safety in the kitchen
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving of ingredients and supplies
  • Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to create new and innovative sushi dishes
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations
  • Keep track of food costs and assist with menu planning and cost control

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Sushi Chef or Chef de Partie 2 Sushi in a high-volume restaurant or hotel
  • Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and ingredients
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Flexibility to work long hours and weekends as needed
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred
