At Eldercare, we are committed to delivering exceptional care and support to older South Australians. As one of the state’s leading not-for-profit aged care providers, we foster a compassionate and inclusive work environment where every team member is valued.

About the Role

We’re seeking a dedicated Chef to join our aged care team at Hope Valley and deliver fresh, nutritious, and comforting meals that brighten our residents’ days. We’re a purpose-driven aged care provider committed to dignity, compassion, and connection. Our kitchens are the heart of our homes, and every plate we serve helps create a sense of comfort, familiarity, and joy.

As our Aged Care Chef, you’ll be at the helm of kitchen operations planning and preparing meals that meet a range of dietary needs while maintaining the highest standards in hygiene, food safety, and service delivery.

You’ll collaborate with hospitality staff, dietitians, and care teams to craft meals that are nourishing, well-presented, and tailored to our residents’ preferences and health requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of nutritious home-style foods for our guests
  • Cater for special diets including texture modified & supplements
  • Forming and maintaining relationships with all stakeholders, residents and their families, staff and suppliers
  • Ensuring all compliance obligations are met, safe food practices, WHS and cooking for vulnerable persons
  • Maintaining adequate standards of hygiene and tidiness in the kitchen and maintaining supplies
What You Will Bring
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
  • Experience in aged care, healthcare, or large-scale food service
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certification (Preferred)
  • Sound knowledge of dietary needs and modified textures
  • A flair for preparing homestyle meals with care and creativity
  • A kind heart and team-focused attitude
Why Choose Eldercare?
  • Make a real impact through your craft every single day
  • Be part of a purpose-driven organisation that values compassion and community
  • Salary packaging options to increase your take-home pay
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Join a team that feels more like family
