Job summary

My Client is hiring Certification Decision Officer. You will report directly to the Certification Manager. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience through working in the organic agriculture sector in developing decision‑making skills through the knowledge of the organic scheme’s regulations as offered.

Your tasks

You will be responsible to carry out the following duties:

  • Management of certification files
  • Perform reviews of audit reports
  • Make certification decisions based on the facts and risk assessments
  • Motivate, formulate and communicate the certification decision
  • Issue decisions made on certifications
  • Process appeals and mediation requests
  • Evaluate the quality of audit reports
  • May include additional office responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Technical and/or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, environmental management or other relevant qualification. Any experience in certification will be advantageous.
  • High level of computer literacy – Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent English and Afrikaans spoken and written competency with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
